The Shoppe On Main - Consign With Us

The Shoppe On Main is excited about the prospect of offering you the opportunity to recycle your greatly loved, gently worn upscale labels to make extra money!

1. Appointments Consignments are accepted by appointment only Monday through Friday, unless special arrangements are made. To set up an appointment, call 434.315.8700.

2. Seasonal Schedule Items that are seasonal will be received as follows: Winter items will be taken November – January; Spring items will be taken February to April; Summer items will be taken May to July; and Fall items will be taken August to October. Non-seasonal items will be accepted year round. Acceptance is conditional based on space availability and The Shoppe On Main reserves the right to change its schedule based on market opportunities and seasonal transition.

3. Condition We accept merchandise from better department stores and designer labels which has been gently worn, no more than three years old, freshly laundered or dry cleaned, pressed, and either hung on a non-returnable hanger or casual items may be neatly folded. Your items should be ready to be sold. Please do not bring your items in plastic bags because this will wrinkle clothing quickly and in some cases, cause discoloration. First time consignors should have a minimum of five (5) items acceptable for consignment in order to establish a relationship with us. We will accept no more than twenty-five (25) items at one time.

4. Consignment Period The consignment contract period is for 60 days and will begin the day the items are entered into our inventory system and presented for sale. Upon acceptance for consignment, each item is tracked by an assigned consignor identification number and contract period expiration date. At the consignor’s request, The Shoppe On Main will prepare a receipt of all consigned items and the contract expiration date that can either be picked up or mailed to the consignor. At the end of the 60-day consignment period, unless otherwise specified, all unsold merchandise becomes the property of The Shoppe On Main and will be donated to charity.

5. Pricing The merchandise will be selected and priced at our own discretion. As a general rule, items will remain at full price for 15 days with markdowns occurring over the remaining 45 days. Under normal circumstances, regular markdowns will be at the end of 15-day (30%), 30-day (50%) and 45-day (70%) periods. However, The Shoppe On Main may hold periodic sales for slow moving, out-of-season and clearance merchandise. Any merchandise in stock is subject to these in-store promotions and sales during the contract period.

6. Payment Checks will be prepared and available for pick up on or after the 10th of the month for sales in the prior month. Once a check is in the consignor’s possession, any stop payment fees for lost or stolen checks written by The Shoppe On Main will be the responsibility of the consignor. Consignors may use the total or partial balance due torward the purchase of store merchandise.

7. Security Although The Shoppe On Main will treat your items respectfully and carefully, we cannot be responsible for the damage or loss of any consigned items due to fire, theft, water, vandalism, negligent handling by customers or any other adverse event.
